Following several years in IT auditing, I wanted to provide my clients with support right through to full implementation of my recommendations, also that way getting back to the technology side, which was gradually getting forgotten.

At Solucom I found highly challenging projects, complex problems and a corporate culture that assumed the sharing of knowledge.

Three years later the facts speak for themselves: I am supervising project teams in the implementation of two major continuity programs, while carrying out strategic surveys for other clients. I am also in charge of a department of about fifteen consultants, whose progress I support daily and for the long-term, which is indubitably my biggest challenge today.

Development path

Solucomway, our career development path

To let everyone see themselves in their business in the long-term within the company, various milestones provide a structure for the various stages of advancement for consultants and sales engineers (soon for transverse teams). Development paths, called Solucomway , have therefore been specially created for our staff and can be found in their own area on our Intranet:

A skills path is mainly:

  •  A description of the various development routes for each business area, and the different milestones along the way
  •  A detailed guide to the key, shared skills needed in the business area and the particular skills required in each area of activity
  •  The titles related to each stage, which highlight the acquisition of skills and knowledge
  •  A made-to-measure training syllabus developed for Solucom, known as Solucom University

Solucomway Consulting is built around 3 development paths, the main one being "Consulting", the others being "Skills" and "Internal Management". The Consulting path breaks down the development of skills and areas of responsibility around 5 positions

Opening up to new opportunities with internal mobility

Moving from the Telecoms & Innovation practice to the Strategy & Management practice, from consulting to business development, from Paris to the regions and vice versa... that's also possible with internal mobility.

Each year this system offers members of staff the opportunity to discover new horizons, enrich their experience and skills. In 2010-2011, 35 members of staff used this system (70% to another of the firm's practices, 20% to a different business area and 10% to a different location).
